Trish became involved with the Star Foundation when her sons began receiving services at (its partner or sister organization?) Palm Beach Speech and OT Specialists in 2022.

Originally from outside Philadelphia, Trish attended Dartmouth College, where she studied Psychological and Brain Sciences and English Literature.  After graduating, she moved to New York City, working as a management consultant and financial reporter in the financial services industry before returning to school to pursue an M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Columbia University's Teachers College.  Her research focused on eating disorders and body image in societies undergoing economic development and cultural transition.  She contributed to publications in medical journals, including the Journal of Eating Disorders, Current Opinion in Psychiatry, and Current Psychiatry Reports, as well as to reference books on the etiology and treatment of eating and feeding disorders.

While in graduate school, Trish became involved in a newly launched, interdisciplinary global mental health group based at Columbia University, which today is known as the Columbia Center for Global Mental Health.  She worked in a variety of programmatic, editorial, and research capacities for several years as the organization grew, before segueing into a freelance writing and research career, concentrated in the non-profit and mental health field.

Trish and her family relocated to Florida in 2022, when her husband, Mike, accepted a job with NextEra Energy, the parent company of Florida Power & Light (FPL).  Trish is excited to expand her footprint in the local philanthropic scene.  She is committed to supporting the mission of the Star Foundation and other organizations that promote education and health-focused initiatives serving women and children.
